September 9 Registration deadline for the October 10 SAT I & II
September 14 to October 30 Meet with Barbara Sullivan to identify possible colleges.
October 1 Registration deadline for the November 7 SAT I & II
October 1 Reg. deadline for the Extended Time SAT I on November 7 & 8
October 10 SAT I & II
October to November 13 Contact all colleges and accumulate catalogues and applications. Early decision/early action applications to most colleges must be submitted by November 1. October 8 Parents' College Night, 6:00 p.m.
October and November Visit colleges and arrange interviews if possible. Contact Financial Aid Offices.
October 30 Registration deadline for the December 5 SAT I & II
November 7 & 8 SAT I & II and the Extended Time SAT I (given at Beekman)
September to December 1 Write college essays (your English teacher will guide you) and leave an original copy with George Higgins or Barbara Sullivan. Have two current teachers write a "Letter of Recommendation" for you. Complete all applications and submit (with check) to George Higgins or Barbara Sullivan.
* December 1 If your application deadline is anytime in January, you must give everything to Barbara Sullivan by this date.
December 5 SAT I & II
December 15 Registration deadline for the January 23 SAT I & II
* * ALL application materials must be given to Barbara Sullivan at least one week prior to the college's application deadline. Applications for all colleges should be given to Barbara Sullivan no later than Monday, January 4, 20010.
January 19 to January 29 Mid-Year Exams and Regents Tests. Each senior MUST pass all FIVE state tests before receiving a diploma. This is your last chance before the June graduation date.
January 23 SAT I & II
February 8 Your mid-year transcript will be sent to all of the colleges that you applied to and your application folder is now complete.
March and April Colleges will be contacting you with their admission decision.
May 1 Contact each college you were accepted to and inform them of your enrollment decision. Let George Higgins or Barbara Sullivan know where you want your final transcript sent.
June 9 Graduation rehearsal, 3:30 p.m.
June 9 Senior Dinner, 7:30 p.m.
June 10 Graduation, 7:00 p.m.
June 15 to June 24 Regents Tests (This is the final administration of these tests for the 2009-10 academic school year. No senior will receive a signed diploma unless all five tests have been passed.) |
